Chris partners with individuals and small businesses and their owners to create and implement long-term, tax-efficient, personalized financial strategies using insurance and investments.
Chris is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), and Chartered Investment Manager® (CIM®) working closely with business owners and new or established professionals and their families to address the unique needs and opportunities that they face.
Prior to founding FocalPoint Financial Group Inc. in 2018, Chris was an advisor at Sun Life Financial, where he was recognized as one of the firm’s top developing advisors in 2016 and 2017. He graduated from UBC’s Sauder School of Business in 2009 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In October 2022, Chris graduated from York University's Osgoode Hall Law School with a Master of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in Tax Law.
Chris believes in community service and recently was a member of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC’s Board of Directors. This appointment continued his commitment to community service, including serving as an elected School Trustee on the Central Okanagan Board of Education (2011 to 2018). Before joining the financial services industry in 2015, Chris volunteered as a Senator on the UBC Senate and a Director of the UBC Alumni Association and the University Children’s Learning Centre Society.
Chris enjoys hockey and spending quality time with his young family in his free time. He lives in Kelowna, BC with his partner, Michelle, and two daughters aged 15 and 12.
