Chris Gorman MBA, CFP®, CLU®, CIM®
Chris partners with individuals and small businesses and their owners to create and implement long-term, tax-efficient, personalized financial strategies using insurance and investments.
Chris is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Chartered Investment Manager® (CIM®), Certified Health Insurance Specialist® (CHS®), Certified Executor Advisor® (CEA®), and Responsible Investment Specialist (RIS) working closely with business owners and new or established professionals and their families to address the unique needs and opportunities that they face.
Prior to founding FocalPoint Financial Group Inc. in 2018, Chris was an advisor at Sun Life Financial, where he was recognized as one of the firm’s top developing advisors in 2016 and 2017. Internationally, Chris is recognized in the top 1% of financial advisors through his membership in the Million Dollar Round Table. He graduated from UBC’s Sauder School of Business in 2009 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Chris is currently pursuing his Master of Laws (LLM) degree specializing in Tax Law at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School.
Chris believes in community service and is currently a member of the YMCA of Southern Interior BC’s Board of Directors. This appointment continues his commitment to community service that has included serving as an elected School Trustee on the Central Okanagan Board of Education (2011 to 2018), Senator on the UBC Senate, and Director of the UBC Alumni Association and the University Children’s Learning Centre Society.
In his free time, Chris enjoys hockey and spending quality time with his young family. He lives in Kelowna, BC with his partner, Michelle, and two daughters aged 14 and 11.
