Michelle Aucoin, MA, QAFP™, CHS®, CDFA® Joins FocalPoint Financial Group Inc.
Kelowna, BC (January 15, 2020) – FocalPoint Financial Group Inc. (“FocalPoint”) is pleased to welcome Michelle Aucoin, MA, QAFP™, CHS®, CDFA® to the team as a financial advisor.
With more than seven years of experience in the financial services industry, Michelle is passionate about working with professionals and business owners to identify and realize their personal and professional financial goals. She will lead our employee benefits practice and will also create and implement financial strategies in partnership with our clients.
She also brings specialized knowledge to work with clients navigating the financial issues that arise during separation and divorce. Building on relationship management skills acquired over her career, she brings an empathetic and practical approach to building financial resilience for a future after divorce.

Prior to joining FocalPoint, Michelle served as a leader in the post-secondary sector, taking on executive roles that supported both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses of The University of British Columbia. She acquired a rich background in international education during her tenure at the University of Victoria, working with colleagues and students from Asia, South America and Mexico. Her experiences in this field are especially helpful working with clients preparing for their children’s education.
Michelle’s professional experience also includes working with a technology start-up, which informs valuable insights for entrepreneurs embarking on new ventures and navigating their financial opportunities and risks.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Michelle completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees at the University of Victoria. She also completed professional designations that include the Qualified Associate Financial Planner™, Certified Health Insurance Specialist®, and Certified Divorce Financial Advisor® designations.
